Points discussed:

• A lengthy discussion was held about the possible candidates for Chief Guest. Various names were discussed and some names were shortlisted. Official invitation to the final choice to be sent out in the coming days after further consideration.
• Another lengthy discussion was held on how to raise funds for the AGM. It was agreed that atleast £1000 are needed to be raised, based on the final budget of the EGM held in March 2007. For the EGM, a sum in excess of £950 were spent, for a 3-day event for which about 80 members attended.  Since it was agreed to hold the AGM together with Adha Eid celebrations, and since the event is to be held in London during the Holidays, it is expected that a similar amount of budget will be required.
• It was agreed to run an online fundraising ‘marathon’ with appropriate amount of publicity being achieved. We are going to list out how the donated money will be utilised and maintain full transparency, as has been practised throughout the year.
• Discussed preparing financial report for the year
• Muiz informed that the goteach certificates, thanking letters have been given to Nishwan who would be flying to Male’ on Oct 29th, to be given to Abdulla (Manchester) for delivery to respective recipients.
• Meeting concluded after fixing the date of the next meeting for Monday 29 October.
