On behalf of the members of MSA(UK) and as the Chairperson of the Association, I take this opportunity to extend sincere well wishes to Mr Qasim Ibrahim, Chairman of the Villa Foundation on his release from the prison. As I write this message, there are many students in the UK who are currently studying under the Villa Scholarship Scheme who will rejoice on receiving this happy news and join me extending the same to Mr Qasim. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family members of Mr Qasim, who are coping well under this very difficult time.

I would also like to highlight that MSA(UK) is indebted for Mr Qasim’s continuous contributions to the association for the welfare of students in the UK and also for his commitment and effort to educate people of our country.

I also take the opportunity to thank the government, especially to our President H.E. Mr Maumoon Abdul Gayoom for taking this audacious step in releasing Mr Qasim from prison and commend for the efforts and measures undertaken to implement a fair and judicious system to ensure peace and justice in our society.
