MSA(UK) Central Committee had a meeting with the Maldivian High Commissioner (acting) Honourable Mr Adam Hassan on Friday, 24th October 2003. The meeting was held at the High Commission of Maldives in London and was attended by Mr Adam Hassan, Miss Iruthisham Adam, Second Secretary of the High Commission of Maldives, MSA(UK) Central Committee members and Mr Mohamed Jameel (MSA(UK) member).
The aim of the meeting was to discuss concerns raised by the members and to maintain a good working relationship among the two parties. The main discussion points were the issues raised by members regarding Rosemont Rules & Regulations, Educational issues, and how the current changes in UK visa requirements are affecting the Maldivian students. "We went there with members' concerns and the results will be presented and discussed during the forth coming AGM," says the student advisor Ismail Mohamed (Habaru Issey).
Mr Adam Hassan said he was very delighted that MSA(UK) has taken such an initiation and assured that he will continue to extend his full cooperation in order to maintain a mutual interaction between the two parties.
"We are very pleased with the outcome of this meeting. This is a huge step towards improving and building a better relationship with the Maldivian High Commission and we are very positive that this will have a positive effect on the association", concludes Issey.
