As you all maybe aware, MSA-UK has not received funding from the government for the past two years and also we have not been able to secure sponsorship for any event this year despite numerous efforts by the Central Committee. The CC recently has come to learn that the government has briefly stopped funding such associations due to the current economic crisis, though it is important to note that we still have not received a reply from the Ministry of Education regarding this matter. We have managed so far with the kind donations from our much devoted members and by taking money from the Rosemont account. As a rule any money taken from Rosemont account should be reimbursed back to Rosemont account. Hence the Central committee has decided to take MVR 20,000 from MSA account in Bank of Maldives with the support of Advisory Committee and other respected members of MSA. We and the AC are of the opinion that, the only substantial way forward for any future CC is to clear the current debts on MSA account (the money owing to Rosemont account). Since our term is coming to an end, we wanted to sort this out before a new CC comes into effect. We would also love to hear your opinion on this matter.

Please also note that MSA account in Bank of Maldives currently has MVR 63,034.25 (as of 5th August 2009).
