First of all Eid Mubarak to all our beloved members. Its that time of year where we meet to welcome the new members of MSA-UK; the freshers and let the rest of us get refreshed in the process by meeting new and fellow friends. We have planned a freshers meeting for the 10th of October 2009. More details on the agenda will be sent in soon.

This year the CC has come up with something different but hope to get a good response from all the members. Considering MSA-UK's financial situation, we have tried to get funds from all possible sources but have not yet been successful. We have not given up and we are STILL trying and mostly trying to push this matter in the Ministry of Education. Honestly, we think this will take quite a long time and by then an auspicious time for freshers would be long gone.

Our alternative is to take money from Rosemont/MSA account but which has more funds of Rosemont than MSA-UK. Without any source of funds coming in to MSA-UK in any immediate future, the CC is highly reluctant to borrow money from the Rosemont account, because as a rule the amount withdrawn has to be deposited back into the account as soon as it becomes possible.

Therefore what we came up with, along with the support of AC, is to request our dear members to make a donation of five pounds, minimum by each member who wish to make this donation and would be attending the event. The donation is not obligatory and merely requested upon those who wish to make it. The request applies to none of the freshers. From this donation, we plan to organize a meal for all the members who attend this event and for future MSA-UK activities.
