Aberdeen famous to people as The Granite City, The Flower of Scotland, The Silver City by the Golden Sand is a prosperous cosmopolitan city, with a historical old town rich of granite buildings which sparkle after rain.
MSA(UK) Aberdeen Tour group left from London Luton Airport at 7 am on Thursday, 5 June 2003. The group consisted of one member from MSA(UK) Central Committee and eight members enjoying these events. The group came back to London mid night on Wednesday night, 11 June 2003.
Some interesting places they visited were Seaton Park, where they had a climbing session as pre-training before they head for a mountaineering tour, Hazelhead Park where they had some experiences with horses, Duthie Park which consists of a range of beautiful gardens. They also had a chance to visit the world famous buildings like King's College and Marishal College. Perhaps the best time in Aberdeen for the members was the day they had at Aberdeen Fun Beach which offers fun for all with a whole range of attractions.
A sec- ond interest for the members was in the beautiful city of Inverness. Though they didn't have much time there members consider it as a worth time when they had a chance to take a bus tour 'The History of Scottish Highlands'. It is important to bring here that they had a chance to experience the Cruden Battlefield which spans back to bloody history (link: http://www.danielsd.demon.co.uk/cruden.htm).
Mem- bers also had a chance to visit the capital of Scotland, Edinburgh where they had the pleasure of seeing The Palace of Holyrood and The Royal Yacht Britannia. In Edinburgh they also had a chance to enter the Edinburgh Castle which overlooks the City and dates from the 12th Century. Delightful views of Edinburgh from the castle ramparts to the hills of the Lothian countryside and to the Firth of Forth.
MSA (UK) Central Committee considers the tour as a successful event. "It was a very friendly group and every one was very helpful. We give every credit to the group for their cooperation", says Jeku from CC who went on the tour with them. "Members who went on the tour will decide if the tour is a success or not, we are very happy with the tour", Jeku concluded.
A big thank you to Hussein and family for accommodating our group and for their invaluable assistance to make this tour possible.
