New members have been elected to the Central Committee of the Maldivian Student’s Association (UK) at the Extraordinary General Meeting held on 5 April 2008. New members were elected for the post of Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer and Student Advisor following the resignation of the previous post-holders. The newly elected are as follows:

Chairperson: Faris Hussain
Secretary: Mariyam Midhfa Naeem
Treasurer: Hussain Fahmy
Student Advisor: Abdulla Humaid

Also, it is with deep regret we inform that Faris Hussain, who was elected Chairperson at the EGM, has handed in his resignation from the post citing personal reasons. Although Faris has resigned from the post, he remains committed to assisting the new CC and MSA (UK) in any way possible. We would like to thank Faris for his contributions.

As it will be difficult to hold another EGM to elect another Chairperson in the current academic year due to upcoming exams and summer holidays, the current CC has decided to continue with the current action plan without electing a new Chairperson. We would like to assure all the members of our deepest commitment and determination to maintain the high standards that are expected from us by the members and uphold the good name of the Association.
