The High Commission of Maldives in the UK has given the opportunity to MSA-UK, as in previous years, to nominate a flag bearer for the procession to mark the Commonwealth Day Observance to be held on Monday 10 March 2008.

The procession, which is scheduled to take place at Westminster Abbey (London), will have a national from all Commonwealth countries carrying their national flag. The dress code for the flag bearer is national dress or, failing that, a suit. Flag bearers are expected to be present at the Westminster Abbey by 0830 sharp on the morning of 10th March and will be free by approximately 1645 hrs.The Commonwealth Secretariat will be sending detailed instructions to the nominated flag bearer closer to the date of the event. The High Commission will be providing a cheque of £100.00 (One Hundred Pounds) for the participant to cover necessary expenses for transportation & other costs
