The Central Committee has been contemplating on awarding Honorary Membership, as mentioned in the MSA-UK Constitution (Articles 7 and 13), to two persons who have been constantly helping MSA in the activities. Honorary Membership is awarded to people who are non-members, who make positive contributions to the functioning of MSA.
We are putting forward the names of Hon. Gasim Ibrahim and Hon. Mohamed Waheedhudheen (Deen) in light of what they have done over the years. Many of our activities including AGMs, EGMs, Fresher's Fairs and various projects would not have been made possible were it not for the generous donations from these two individuals. We propose that we officially honour them for their contributions to MSA-UK by awarding them Honorary Membership.
The Constitution requires this be consulted with members and a consensus reached before it is made a reality. Therefore, we would like to hear your thoughts on the matter. You can email us ( committee@msa-uk.org) or engage in debate at the MSA-UK Forum. We will keep discussions open till the AGM 2007 scheduled to take place 19-21 this month.
