A reception organised by the High Commission of the Maldives to the UK to mark the Independence Day of the Maldives has been held on 26^th July 2007 at the Commonwealth Club, London. This reception was attended by several students and their families in addition to the officials from other diplomatic missions.

Dr. Hassan Ugail gave a keynote speech and High Commissioner H.E. Hassan Sobir delivered a speech on behalf of the President of the Maldives during this reception. A grand buffet was served at this reception on the occasion of the 42^nd Independence Day of the Maldives.
