We are glad to inform the members that the Maldivian High Commission in London has started to process National Identity Cards applications.

A MSA(UK) member had raised the issue of not being able to obtain the Maldivian National Identity Cards for new-borns without having to travel back home at the MSA(UK) EGM 07 meeting. Members also inquired whether the Maldivian High Commission to the UK maybe able to provide the service to the students (and Maldivians) in the UK. The issue was subsequently directed to the High Commissioner from the Maldives, HE Hassan Sobir, who was present at the meeting as Chief Guest to the event. The High Commissioner had assured members that a solution will be reached soon and that members will be able to get the service much similar to the Maldivian High Commissions elsewhere.
