AGM 2006 meeting held successfully tonight!

Meeting about to begin Annual General Meeting 2006 was held tonight at 9 Rosemont Avenue with more than 30 members attending the event. The meeting started with the recitation of Holy Quran by Nishwan Abbas and was followed by the presentation of the year report and financial statements by the Chairperson 2006, Aishath Ali Naaz. She also presented proposed amendments to the MSA constitution and Rosemont regulations. Discussions ensued and members discussed various points from the year report, financial statements and the amendments. The discussions on amendments extended beyond the scheduled time slot and the Central Committee decided to call for suggestions and comments to continue on the forum with a decision to be made in a month.

Cooking for the masses The election process was conducted with the help of an impartial election committee composed of non-members. The Central Committee was elected first with Mohamed Muizzu as Chairperson, Jawish Hameed as Vice-Chairperson, Hassan Khalid as Secretary, Aminath Hauzan Nasir as Treasurer and Mohamed Samnoon Fuad as Student Advisor. The Advisory Council was elected next with Abdulla Sodiq as Head of Council and Shafiu Ahmed and Ibrahim Firushan as mentors.

The High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Mr. Hassan Sobir and Ali Shujau graced the meeting with their presence and actively participated in the events. We thank for the High Commissioner’s valuable input during the meeting.
