MSA(UK) vice chairperson Solah Rasheed had the opportunity to meet the Minister of Education Honourable Mr Ismail Shafeeu, at the ministry on January 21st, 2003 during his three weeks visit to Male?.
The aim of the meeting with the Minister was to congratulate him and extend well wishes on behalf of MSA(UK) members for his new post as the Education Minister. The vice-chairperson extended our gratitude to the former minister, Dr Mohamed Latheef and the staff of the ministry for their continued cooperation and assistance during the past years. We hope this meeting with the Minister will further strengthen our relation with the Ministry and lead us towards a more successful MSA(UK).
Mr Shafeeu said that he was very delighted to see a member from MSA(UK) central committee and conveyed his best wishes to all the Maldivian students in the UK. He also advised all of us to work hard to obtain ?reethi nan? to Maldives, our mother nation.
Mr Shafeeu also highlighted lifting of the visa requirements by UK government to Maldivian nationals traveling to UK and gave credit to all the Maldivian students in the UK. He said ?this happened because Maldivians are behaving very well in the UK and majority of the Maldivians who visit to UK are students?.
So let us all work together to maintain this good name to our beloved country, the Maldives!
