The treasurer for MSA-UK, Abdulla Muththalib elected into the Central Committee (CC) for the year 2006, has resigned from his post. He lodged his resignation late May, specifying personal reasons and difficulty in operating under his elected post as his reasons for resignation. He was requested by the Central Committee to continue to function under his post for a further month to allow the CC to complete ongoing tasks. The time was also intended to allow in making the transition of the various financial operations of the MSA-UK as smooth as possible. Muththalib reiterated his desire to leave the post and the CC accepted his resignation officially at a meeting held last week.
His resignation from this key post has influenced greatly to the various work MSA has been undertaking through the year. The work of treasurer is now temporary being carried out by the rest of the CC members.
We will be having a election of a new member to fill the post at the earliest MSA gathering scheduled for the Fresher's Week 2006. This is to allow more members to participate and join the election process. Further details will be posted closer to the election date.
We thank Muththalib for the work and dedication he has shown to the MSA during the time he has served. Additionally, the Central COmmittee appreciates the contribution he made to administrative operation of the CC.
