Flagbearer selection for Commonwealth Day Observance

The High Comission has extended an invitation to nominate a flagbearer for the Commonwealth Day Observance event scheduled to take place on Monday, 13th of March 2006. The High Commission is required to nominate a flag bearer and send the neccessary forms by 13th of February.
The Commonwealth Observance Day 2006, will be held in Westminster Abbey on Monday 13 March 2006 at 3.15 pm in the presence of His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales and Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Cornwall. All High Commissioner's of the Commonwealth Countries will be participating in the Ceremony. An information package with the extra details regarding the event will be sent directly to the nominated flag bearer by the Royal Commonwealth Society. The nominated bearer will be asked to be at the Abbey at 08:30 sharp for a rehearsal with other representatives while the actual event will take place later in the afternoon at 15:15. The dresscode is the national dress or a smart dress or suit. The organisers will offer morning coffee and lunch. A group photograph of the participants will be taken after the event ends and the bearer will be free after 16:45.
We would like to invite all MSA-UK members to nominate themselves to be the bearer. The nominated flag bearer will have to be available on the above mentioned date for the event and has to settle the transport costs him/her-self. Please email in your name, contact number and address to committee [at] msa-uk [dot] org by Friday, 3rd February. MSA will select a member at random from the recieved applicants and will inform the HIgh Commission by Monday, 6th of February. The selection event will take place on Feb 4th, either at 9 Rosemont Avenue or during the "Learn to Cook" session planned to take place in Manchester the same day.
