The Maldivian High Commissioner in London Honourable Mr Hassan Sobir hosted an "iftaar" (Roadha veellun) for MSA(UK) members on Saturday, 06th November 2004. The event was attended by the High Commissioner, staff of the High Commission and 65 members of MSA(UK).

After the meal, the High Commissioner introduced himself and gave a brief speech to members. He first thanked all the members for attending and highlighted the importance of gaining education. He said that he was very impressed to see students gaining western education in different fields of study at various levels. He also stated that the future of our country depends on students like us and it must be our duty to serve our country on completing the studies.

On behalf of the members, Chairperson thanked High Commissioner and all the staff of MHC for hosting the ifthaar. Chairperson also thanked all the members for attending the ifthaar; especially for members who travelled long distances just to attend the meeting.
